The book "Orixás, Iorubá Gods in Africa and the New World" by Pierre Verger reveals the cults to the Iorubá gods in their countries of origin, as Nigeria, ex-Daomé - currently Benin, and Togo and in the New World (Brazil and The Antilles), where the rituals were brought with the Negro Diaspora during the slave trade. The publication contains 250 photos and texts highlighting the cerimonies and the characteristics of each Orixá, in addition to a description of the archetype of the personality of those devoted to each Orixá.
